Ports and Harbour Monitoring

Monitoring our ports and harbours is essential for safe navigation during ship arrivals / departures and cargo transfer. Xylem offers a host of real-time systems designed to monitor traffic conditions to ports and fairways, displaying information into existing systems. The primary purpose is to provide data for wind and current conditions, both real-time and historical, to VTS operators, ship pilots, ship's bridges, harbour authorities and other public and governmental bodies via channels such as internet or AIS system.

Harbours and fairways have installed Xylem solutions from Aanderaa, YSI, and SonTek all over the world. Large ports with radar based Vessel Traffic Management (VTS) and smaller ports without radar based VTS systems use our hydromet systems to provide important input of data for safe maneuvering and to improve port efficiency.

MOTUS Wave Sensor 5729

The Aanderaa MOTUS wave direction sensor is a revolutionary new solution for monitoring wave direction from a surface buoy or ODAS.
