Xylem Analytics - life sciences monitoring solutions

For many years, Xylem has been supplying the world's leading pharmaceutical producers with analytical instrumentation through our globally recognised brands; Bellingham + Stanley, YSI, OI Analytical, SI Analytics, ebro, and WTW.

Whether the need is a high specification Peltier temperature controlled refractometer, a four decimal multiple wavelength polarimeter measuring down to 325nm, a UV/Vis spectrophotometer or an automatic titrator that can trace its heritage back to the evolution of electro-chemistry; many scientists first choice instruments are Xylem brands.

We serve many applications within the pharmaceutical arena.  General analysis of raw materials as well as quality control of goods in manufacture is common.  Most instruments meet the requirements outlined in pharmacopeia, for example, our refractometers and polarimeters comply totally with BP/EP/USP/JP, appendix 781 & 831.  In fact, our latest ADP660 is almost alone in its capability of measuring at 325nm to within 1% of the reference standard for dextromethorphan in accordance with US Pharmacopeia.

Xylem brand SI Analytics' heritage can be traced back through its former SCHOTT® Geräte name to the invention of glass electrodes in 1937 when SCHOTT® laid the foundation for the success of electrochemical measurement.  Since then, SI Analytics has continued to play a key role in ensuring that electrochemical analysis has become a reliable and indispensable process the world over.

Today, our newly developed titrator group comprising TitroLine® 7000, TitroLine 7800 and TITRONIC® 300/500 burette combines high accuracy measurement with flexibility in a robust and user friendly platform, making for fast and simple day-to-day analysis.  For pharmaceutical applications, the TitroLine 7800 is preferred.  Capable of accepting both analogue and digital IDS sensors, the latter providing a signal protected against electromagnetic interference and a calibration free routine analysis, TitroLine 7800 facilitates operation in FDA regulated environments (21 CFR Part 11) when used with TitroSoft® PC software.

Furthermore, our TitroLine 7500 KF and TitroLine 7500 KF Trace for the coloumetric water analysis in accordance with Karl Fischer methodology, as well as the multi-purpose titrator TitroLine 7750, expands our measurement scope into the water analysis sector of pharmaceutical manufacturing, making SI Analytics' TitroLine® the series of choice for today's electrochemistry specialists.

Our YSI and OI Analytical brands supply automated and on-line instrumentation for specific analytes including TOC, VOC, glucose, lactose amongst many others.

OI Analytical’s newest Pulse Flame Photometric GC detector, the 5383 PFPD may now be used for detecting Sulphur in pharmaceuticals and other products.

The 2950 Biochemistry Analyser can provide results for up to 6 chemistries in less than a minute per sample and now automated multi-vessel monitoring and control is available through the new 2940/80 OLM systems.

In fact, our life sciences division of YSI has earned a reputation as the Gold Standard in bio-analytical instrumentation and our product scope now transverses pharmaceutical, clinical, bioprocessing and sports science even food & beverage.

WTW’s photoLab 7600 UV/Vis spectrophotometer is capable of displaying full spectral scans on its integral colour screen and not only having an on-board suite of 200 pre-programmed methods, is capable of handling up to 1000 user defined methods or up to 20 kinetic profiles too, including many of those cited in Pharmacopeia.  A fully GLP and AQA compliant spectral software package is also available.

Monitoring the temperature and humidity of pharmaceuticals is ebro’s specialty.  EBI 300 high precision data loggers monitor the temperature and humidity of vaccines, human tissue, drugs and other raw materials during transit to prevent spoilage.  EBI 10, EBI 11 & EBI 12 series  data loggers commonly validate sterilisation of autoclaves, endoscopy equipment and are also used for fridge mapping.

For samples in storage, EBI 25 wireless data loggers transmit temperature and/or humidity readings to WinlogLog PC software for real-time data monitoring, with remote alarm notifications via mobile device providing a 247/365 monitoring and data logging solution.  Winlog software complies with FDA regulation 21 CFR part 11 for data security.
